# Week 7

ELA Learning Targets:

Students will refer to parts of stories, dramas, and poems when writing or speaking about a text, using terms such as chapter, scene, and stanza; describe how each successful part builds on earlier section.

ELA Activities:

During centers students will be practicing on IXL and reviewing main idea and compare and contrast. Students will use Venn-diagrams to compare and contrast two stories. Students will continue to review identifying the main idea of a text.

IXL: X.1, X.2, U.1, U.5, V.2

Science Learning Targets: What are some physical properties? How are mass and volume measured? What are the states of matter? How can the state of matter change?

Science Learning Activities: Unit 3 Science Fusion. Students will work on inquiry science learning activities and sort through different types of matter, measure and compare mass and volume and describe the changes of states of matter. Students will be taking the district science assessment towards the end of the week. This test covers what we have learned so far this year in science.

Math Learning Targets: Students will be able to use number sentences, arrays and the commutative property to multiply. We will be finishing multiplication and beginning our unit on division. Students will use models to solve division problems involving sharing and record solutions using division number sentences. Students will give a multiplication fact and state a related division fact, or give a division fact and state a related multiplication fact.

Math Learning Activities: Creating arrays with rows and columns to represent multiplication. Students will work on memorizing multiplication facts. Students will practice division as sharing during seat work activities and centers.
