Science Learning Targets:

Students will be reviewing for the VST 2B that they will take this week. We will review the sources of energy, light, and heat. They we will begin our unit on plant structures and functions.

Science Learning Activities: During science, students will participate in review game shows. Then they will start learning about the parts of the plant and the functions of each part.

Science Vocabulary:

function: purpose

roots: part of the plant that soaks up the nutrients and water from the soil, holds the plant in the ground

stem: part of the plant that brings the water and nutrients to the rest of the plant, holds the plant up

leaves: part of the plant that makes the food

photosynthesis: the process which a plant makes its own food

seeds: the part of the plant that is responsible for reproduction of the plant

Math Learning Targets:

Students will be working on comparing fractions using benchmarks, models, different denominators and numerators and same denominators and numerators

Math Learning Activities:

Students will be participating in interactive activities and games for comparing fractions and finding equivalent fractions.

This is a review week for the standards: Main idea, text features, inferencing, character traits, text structure, analyzing literature, figurative language and point of view.

ELA Activities: Students will participate in small groups during centers and also practicing on Iready and Istation.
