*During the next few weeks students will be reviewing reading and math for the FSA.

FSA Reading will be April 9th-10th and FSA Math will be April 16th-17th.

Science Learning Targets: How can we classify plants? How can we classify vertebrates?

Science Learning Activities: Unit 7 Science Fusion. Students will classify flowering and non-flowering plants. Students will learn about vertebrates, amphibians, reptiles and mammals and will classify animals based on their characteristics.

Math Learning Targets:  Students will be able to measure mass and volume. We will learn about different types of measurement tools and solve problems using measurement.

Math Learning Targets: Students will estimate masses, measure masses, estimate volumes, measure volumes and solve one step word problems involving masses or volumes using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

IXL: BB.14, BB.15, BB.16

Social Studies: Students will be able to identify major ways environmental influences contribute to settlement patterns.

ELA Learning Targets:

Students will review main idea/central idea, cause/effect, context clues, mood and sequencing.

Students will continue working on using evidence based answers.

ELA Activities:

Students will be reading the story “Boom Town” for comprehension. Students will participate in small groups during centers and also practicing on IXL, I-Station, as well as reviewing concepts from the previous unit. IXL: U.1, Y.1, V.1, V.2, V.3, Q.11, X.1, X.2,
