Science Learning Targets:  How do living things change with seasons? What do plants need? How do plants and animals get energy?

Science Learning Activities: Unit 8: Living Things Change

Students will describe how animals and plants respond to changing seasons. Students will also recognize that plants use energy from the sun, air and water to make their own food.  Unit 8 Science Assessment

Math Learning Targets: Students will work on a review of time. They will tell time on digital and analog clocks, tell time to the minute, and determine elapsed time.  

Math Learning Targets: Students will determine elapsed time using a number line, T-chart and timeline. We will also practice finding a missing time in a problem. Students will take a test on time.

IXL: T.1-13

Social Studies: Students will be able to identify major ways environmental influences contribute to settlement patterns and recognize the different cultures that have settled in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.

ELA Learning Targets:

Students will be reading the story “Wizard of Oz” for comprehension and the cumulative assessment will at the end of this week. Students will be completing an “End of Year Journal Packet”

ELA Activities:

Students will be having a fun filled week with board games on Thursday and minute to win it games on Friday.

Students will participate in small groups during centers and also practicing on IXL, I-Station, as well as reviewing concepts from the previous unit.

IXL: A.3, A.6, B.7, B.8, B.9, B.10, C.2, C.3, C.5, C.6

Social Studies: Students will be able to give examples of how scarcity results in trade, list the characteristics of money and recognize that buyer and sellers interact to exchange goods and services through use of money.

There will be no more spelling and vocabulary assessments for this year.
