ELA Learning Targets:
Students will be able to describe a logical connection between particular sentences and paragraphs in a text (e.g., comparison, cause/effect, first/second/third in a sequence). Students will also demonstrate the ability to determine the meaning of general academic words or phrases in a text relevant to a grade 3 topic or subject area.
Students will be reading the story “Animal Homes” for comprehension. Students will participate in small groups during centers and also practicing on IXL, I-Station, as well as reviewing concepts from the previous unit. IXL: B.4, D.4, T.3, Y.4
Social Studies: Students will be able to identify major ways environmental influences contribute to settlement patterns and recognize the different cultures that have settled in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Students will describe how animals and plants respond to changing seasons. Students will also recognize that plants use energy from the sun, air and water to make their own food.
