ELA Learning Targets:
Students will review concepts from Unit 2 with emphasize on identifying Character Traits, and the central message of a text. Students will be reading the story “One Riddle, One Answer” for comprehension strategies. Their vocabulary words are also found in this text.
Students will continue reading the book “Wonder” by RJ Palacio. It emphasizes predicting, point of view, illustrations, summarizing, and making text to self-connections. Our upcoming field trip to see the movie “Wonder” is on 12/19/2017!
Monday 12/4/2017: Drop Everything and Read! Students may bring class snacks and enjoy a day of reading “Wonder” and some of their other favorite books. During centers students will be practicing on IXL, I-Station, and reviewing concepts from Unit 2. IXL: R.1-R.2, X.1, X.2, U.1-U.5, V.1-V.5, Z.1, Y.3, T.1-T.5, W.3, W.4
Science Learning Targets: What are some forms of energy? What is energy? Where is the energy? How does light move? What surfaces reflect light best?
Science Learning Activities: Unit 4 Science Fusion. Students will be learning about light and how it moves. The class will participate in an inquiry activity during which they will learn how light travels!
Math Learning Targets: Students will take the VMT for Unit 2 of math. After completing the test, we will begin our unit on patterns. Students will be able to describe repeating and changing patterns.
Math Learning Targets: Students will describe patterns, identify patterns involving addition and subtraction and extend tables using multiplication, division, addition and subtraction. We will conclude the week with a multiplication ice cream party!
