MAFS.8.G.2.7:  Apply the Pythagorean Theorem to determine unknown side lengths in right triangles in real-world and mathematical problems in two and three dimensions.

MAFS.8.G.2.8:  Apply the Pythagorean Theorem to find the distance between two points in a coordinate system.

Learning Targets and Learning Criteria
• Students will determine if a triangle is a right triangle using Pythagorean Theorem.
• Students will apply the Pythagorean Theorem to find an unknown side length of a right triangle.
• Students will draw a diagram and use the Pythagorean Theorem to solve real-world problems involving right triangles, including three-dimensional triangles.
• Connect any two points on a coordinate grid to a third point so that the three points form a right triangle.
• Apply the Pythagorean Theorem to find the distance between the original two points.
Classroom Activities

Monday/Tuesday:

1. We will review for the DIA
2. We will do a Kahoot to review Solving Equations and the Pythagorean Theorem
3. We will review Solutions of Equations
4. We will review solving multi-step equations

Wednesday:

1. Students will take the DIA (ten questions)

Friday:

1. Third Period will take the DIA
2. We will then play Jeopardy to review Solving Equations in One Variable
