a. Understand that solutions to a system of two linear equations in two variables correspond to points of intersection of their graphs, because points of intersection satisfy both equations simultaneously.

b. Solve systems of two linear equations in two variables algebraically, and estimate solutions by graphing the equations

c. Solve real-world and mathematical problems leading to two linear equations in two variables.

Learning Targets and Learning Criteria
• identify the points of intersection as a solution to a system of linear equations
• define the solution to a linear system of equations of equations as the intersection point on a graph.
• identify the graph of 0, 1, infinitely many solutions for a system of equations.
• use mathematical reasoning to solve simple system of linear equations. (ex; use table of values to solve)
• graph a system of linear equations to estimate the solution.
• solve real-world problems and mathematical problems dealing with systems of linear equations
• interpret solutions in the context of a problem.
Classroom Activities

Monday/Tuesday:

1. Students will log onto the Zoom session
2. We will review slope-intercept form and how to graph.
3. Students will do a Stained-Glass Slope Activity
4. We will do a discovery lab on systems of equations
5. Students will do four problems for a grade

Wednesday:

1. Students will log onto the Zoom session
2. We will review solving systems of equations by graphing
3. Students will do IXL AA.2
4. Students who finish will work on IXL AA.3

Thursday/Friday:

1. Students will log onto the Zoom session
2. We will do notes together on solving systems of equations by Substitution
3. We will work some problems on IXL AA.8 together in class
4. Students will then do some of IXL AA.8 on their own
