b.  Complete the square in a quadratic expression to reveal the maximum or minimum value             of the function it defines.

MAFS.912.A-SSE.1.2  Use the structure of an expression to identify ways to rewrite it.

Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

Determine if a quadratic function has 0, 1, or 3 roots.

Graph quadratic functions from an equation after determining axis of symmetry, vertex, and roots.

Use Vertex form of quadratic equations.

Determine transformations (shifts left, right, up, and down, compressions, and stretches) from h, k, and a in vertex form of quadratic equations and graph of the equations in respect to a parent graph.
