Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

 • create or complete a two-way frequency table to summarize categorical data. • read and interpret the data displayed in a two-way frequency table. • write clear summaries of data displayed in a two-way frequency table. • calculate percentages using the ratios in a two-way frequency table to yield relative frequencies. • calculate joint, marginal, and conditional relative frequencies. • interpret and explain the meaning of relative frequencies in the context of a problem. • describe patterns observed in the data. • recognize the association between two variables by comparing conditional and marginal percentages.

• identify the independent and dependent variable and describe the relationship of the variables. • identify a linear function, a quadratic function, or an exponential function that was found using regression. • use a regression equation to solve problems in the context of the data. • construct a scatter plot with an appropriate scale. • identify any outliers on the scatter plot. • determine whether linear and exponential models are increasing and decreasing. • sketch the function of best fit on the scatter plot.
