Students will sing using their singing voices.

Students will match pitch.

Students will use solfege hand symbols.

Students will learn/review sign language.

Students will use found sounds to make instruments and music. 

Students will see clips from Broadway’s STOMP and discuss found sounds. 

Students will maintain a steady beat. 

Students will review and demonstrate various rhythms (quarter notes, eighth notes, half notes, quarter rests, sixteenth notes)

Solfege warm-up 

ABC’s in sign language review – ABC Rock

America the Beautiful in sign language (new) 

Review:

  • Grand Old Flag
  • You are my Sunshine 
  • Down Down Baby 

Rhythms – review and demonstrate – reading rhythms 

Add found sounds – sticks, buckets, everyday objects 

Discussion on found sounds 

Watch clips from STOMP for references/examples 

If more time is needed, music number game
