Students will sing using their singing voices.
Students will learn about time signatures and practice identifying them in music.
Students will sing songs in different time signatures.
Students will perform on boomwackers.
Students will perform notes B,A,G,E on recorders (3rd Grade F2F)
Students will listen and dictate various rhythms.

Classroom Activities

Welcome
* Go over “I Can” statement
* Go over what classroom activities we will do that day

Review songs

Learn and listen to new songs (TBD)
* Identify the time signatures of the new songs

Introduction to Meter
* Go over powerpoint
* Practice identifying meter (time signatures)
* Time Signature Toast

Rhythm Dictation
* Miss Holvey will play a rhythm
* Students will write the rhythm that they hear

Boomwackers/homemade instruments
* Students will play various songs and rhythms using boomwackers (F2F) or homemade instruments

Recorder Unit (F2F)
* Review notes B,A,G
* Learn E
* Play Hot Cross Buns, Gently Sleep, Merrily We Roll Along
* Introduce It’s Raining

If more time is needed, play a music game or listen to a piece of music and draw what you hear/think of.
