|Learning Targets and Learning Criteria|
Students will find and maintain a steady beat.
Students will listen and learn about the rock group The Beatles.
Students will review one of their Motown songs and hear the mix of rock’n roll and soul music together.
Students will make their own percussion instruments from household items.
Students will play along with a Beatles song on their percussion instruments doing various beat patterns.
Special area right now is for enrichment purposes only.
Any assignment given in special areas will due on April 30th and will be in bold and in all caps so it will be clear.
It’s Rock’n Roll Week in Music!
Everything we do this week will have a Rock’n Roll theme to it 🙂

ASSIGNMENT DUE BY APRIL 30TH

KINDERGARTEN AND 1ST GRADE
Students will choose to draw and color either a quarter note (TA) or an eighth note (TI TI). Once the picture is done, take a photo of the work (students can be in the photo too!) and email it to Miss Holvey. Drawings/pictures are due by April 30th. Once completed you are good to go! Please still check the music classroom connect for short and fun weekly enrichment activities.
ASSIGNMENT: Students will compose their own rhythm by using quarter notes (Ta), eighth notes (Ti Ti), half notes, whole notes, quarter rests, and/or sixteenth notes. Students will write out their rhythms, color/decorate, and write their own sentence that goes along with the rhythm like Miss Holvey did above. Once finished, take a photo of the rhythm (students can be in the picture too!) and email it to Miss Holvey by April 30th. Once completed you are good to go!
