Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

• Today I will learn about GEOMETRIC SHAPES, so that I CAN CUT and GLUE my TRAIN CARS to my background.
• Today I will learn about TEXTURE, so that I CAN add many different materials to my collage.
• Today I will learn about LINE and PATTERN, so that I CAN use repeated elements to decorate my train cars.

Classroom Activities

We will review types of lines and students will use Paint Stix to create the wavy line of a train track. They will also make short, vertical lines to produce the texture of grass and add clouds to the background. They will use and maybe create painted paper and make geometric shapes into their train cars.  Using paint pens, they will design features such as windows and doors to their cars. Last they will use a variety of textures media to add to contents of the cars.
