Classroom Activities

Special area right now is for enrichment purposes only.
Work will be kept at a minimum in order to reduce the workload for our students working from home.

The following is an assignment that can be chosen to send in for assessment.  They are allowed to choose any one exercise from my assignment options
It is not due until April 30th.

We’re learning about subtext in this unit.  Please watch the video of Mrs. Terhune’s rendition of Just Me and My Puppy by Mercer Mayer.  In it, I’ll explain the concept of subtext and how to identify it in movies and books.

The assignment for this week, if your student chooses this lesson, is to look for examples of subtext in other forms of media: movies, books, TV shows, etc.

Assignments Due

Discuss a couple of examples of subtext with your student.  These can be from movies, books, TV shows, even real life.  ***If you’d like to send these examples to Mrs. Terhune, please do so at terhuner@ivyhawnschool.org by Apr 30th***
