Students will build a performance from a known tale.
Special area right now is for enrichment purposes only.
The following is an assignment that can be chosen to send in for assessment. They are allowed to choose any one exercise from my assignment options.
This option involves storytelling. This is slightly different than having a script and performing a single character. Keep in mind you’re telling a whole story, not just a one-sided performance. You’re performing all the characters and narration. And the piece must be memorized. Here are some tips if you choose to pick this assignment:
If your student chooses to do this assignment, please send me a video of them performing a story. It should be roughly 5 minutes or shorter.
As I mention in my greeting video, there are festivals for storytelling all over the country. The link I have attached in Additional Resources below is an example of one of these festivals. This video is very long and your student is NOT required to watch the whole thing. Feel free to skip around and watch different performances.
If your student is seriously interested in storytelling, I’d be happy to work with them in performing at these festivals. It’s an activity I’m considering for our after school drama troupe TSquad for next year as well.
Please let me know if you have any questions via Remind (@ihedrama) or my email email@example.com.
Tell a story: a folktale, fairy tale, or anything of the like.
It is NOT a requirement to watch this whole video. Feel free to skip around and watch different performances.
