Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

Students will integrate information from several texts on one topic to become knowledgeable about a topic.

Students will explain how westward expansion increased the need for better travel and communication.

Students will be able to explain what Manifest Destiny was and how it led to conflict in Texas.

  • Writing prompt: Think about a mystery story or movie you’ve read or seen. Explain how putting together clues, or different pieces of information, helped you or a character solve the mystery. This can be written on paper and you can take a picture to send me or you can type it in an email or you can type it in word in Office365 and share it with me.

FIELD TRIP TO:

 KENNEDY SPACE CENTER!!!

 

This week was supposed to be our field trip to Kennedy Space Center and we are so sad that we won’t be able to go together.

But have no fear, your amazing 5th grade teachers have created a virtual field trip for you! Please complete THREE of the activities below and write a paragraph (8-10 sentences) or create a short PowerPoint (3-4 slides) reflecting on what you learned or found interesting. Please email your reflection to your HOMEROOM teacher. You can write your reflection in office 365 and share it with your teacher, or simply compose it in an email. This is the only assignment you have to do today, so have fun!! 🙂

Here is the Assignment list for all subject areas for those that like to have the all on one list. This has your Reading, Social Studies, Math, and Science all by day. The resources (pictures of charts and such) are not attached this time so it is not as long if you like to print it out. You will need to go to each teachers page to get any resources that are needed.
