Students will explain an author’s perspective toward a topic in an informational text.
Students will identify simple and compound subject and predicate in a sentence.

• identify and locate Florida’s major physical features, including major bodies of water and areas with major islands on a state map
such as Florida Keys.

• locate, label, and discuss Florida’s cultural features on a Florida map (e.g., state capital-Tallahassee, major cities, sites of important
historical events, major tourist attractions).
