The student will:
– apply an understanding of addition and subtraction, place value, and flexibility with multiple strategies to use the standard algorithms for addition and subtraction of whole numbers.
– fluently and and subtract multi-digit whole numbers using the standard algorithm.
– read and discuss how the effects of space research and exploration has created advances in science that have impacted the economy and culture of Florida (e.g.medical technology, transportation, agriculture, and industrial productivity.)
– research products that were generated specifically for space but have now found purpose for pulbic use (e.g. freeze dried food, memory foam, Velcro, Mylar blanket).
-describe the changes (patterns) that occur to the observable shape of the moon over the course of about a month that have been recorded in a science notebook.
