Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

We will begin with a focus on technique in ballet and jazz, having ballet and jazz classes each week.
We will work on dance conditioning each week to support our technique training in ballet and jazz.
We will begin working on choreography for our Veteran’s Day Performance.
We will learn vocabulary for dance – learning our first two units of vocabulary.

Classroom Activities

Mondays/Tuesdays: Ballet Technique Class for the 1st 6 weeks
Wednesdays: Dance Conditioning Class
Thursdays/Fridays: Jazz Technique Class for the 1st 6 weeks

Vocabulary will be learned on Mondays/Tuesdays in addition to ballet class

Choreography for the Veteran’s day Performance will begin the week of September 27th

Assignments Due

Vocabulary Tests are scheduled for: September 7th/8th and September 27th/28th

Dancers will receive a “Weekly Etiquette” grade based on their participation and attitude in class each day
