Assignments Due |
ASSIGNMENT: due December 4th at the end of class Agriculture accounts for almost 11% of the jobs in the United States and 28% of jobs in the world! That is a staggering amount of the work force that are employed, in some part, due to agriculture. Then we think that, due to farmers and ranchers, food is on our tables, clothes are on our backs, and roofs are over our heads. It is not always the glowing outlook that we take on, farmers are ranchers take a lot of responsibility for land erosion, emissions, and water pollution. This week as we look at land use, you will look deeper at the pros and cons of agriculture and take a side. You will look at one, or several of the articles provided, and take a stand. Write a 3 paragraph persuasive essay on farming in the world. Keep in mind what information the articles provide and persuade the reader (me!). Consider the pros and cons of farming; the benefits of the fruits, vegetables and meats that we are provided with vs. the soil erosion, methane gases, and water pollution. Write from your perspective based on the articles you read. ***ARTICLES FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT ARE AVAILABLE THROUGH CANVAS*** |
