Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

• explain why and identify when some linear systems have no solutions or infinitely many solutions. • identify systems whose solutions would be the same through examination of the coefficients. • solve a system of linear equations algebraically (by substitution or elimination) to find an exact solution. • graph a system of linear equations using appropriate axis labels and scale and determine the approximate solution by estimating the point of intersection. • explain the steps in an algebraic proof that shows one equation being replaced with another to find a solution for a system of equations. • explain why a method was chosen when solving a system of equation.
