CIVICS EOC STUDY RESOURCES

The Civics End Of Course (EOC) Exam is fast approaching!  We have begun to prepare for the exam in class and I wanted to fill you in on all the details.

Please be reminded, that the Civics EOC exam is a requirement for every 7th grader in the state.  The EOC does not have an opt-out option.  The EOC counts as 30% of a student’s final grade and the student must pass in order to progress to High School.  As you can see, this is an important part of your child’s academic year, so I ask that you assist them with organizing, preparing, and studying as much as possible over the next 3 weeks.

The exam will be taking place on TBA.  In order to properly prepare for the exam, students will be required to study a minimum of 30-45 minutes 4-5 days a week until the exam. Each week students will receive a log sheet to track their daily progress.  I ask that you initial these daily.  Log sheets will be collected weekly and will count as formative grades.

AFTER SCHOOL STUDY SESSIONS: Tuesday and Thursday Afternoons from 3:15 – 4:00PM in my classroom (4/28, 5/3, 5/5, 5/10, 5/12)

Students will benefit from studying the index cards we are creating this week in class, but a variety of other tools and resources are available to help keep them focused and enthusiastic about the material.  The following items can all be used during daily study time over the next 3 weeks:
