MAFS.7.G.1.2
Draw (freehand, with ruler and protractor, and with technology) geometric shapes with given conditions. Focus on constructing triangles from three measures of angles or sides, noticing when the conditions determine a unique triangle, more than one triangle, or no triangle.
MAFS.7.G.2.4
Know the formulas for the area and circumference of a circle and use them to solve problems; give an informal derivation of the relationship between the circumference and area of a circle.

Learning Targets and Learning Criteria |

Students are successful when they can…
- draw (freehand, with ruler and protractor, with technology) geometric shapes with given conditions
- construct triangles from three measures of angles or sides.
- describe when angle measures determine a triangle (given angles equal 180).
- describe when side measures determine a unique triangle (a + b > c) or no triangle (a + b < c).
- determine whether three angle measures or three side lengths can form a triangle.
- explain the relationship between circumference and diameter of a circle using correct mathematical vocabulary.
- discover through hands-on experience and explain the relationship between the circumference and area of a circle.
- calculate the area of a circle given either its radius, diameter or circumference.
- calculate the circumference of a circle given either its radius, diameter or area.
- solve mathematical and real-world problems by applying the area of a circle and circumference formulas.
