# Q4, W8: May 17th – 21st Advanced and Regular Math

Teacher Felicia Taylor Advanced/ Regular Math 7th 24 Introduction to Functions - Getting Ready for 8th Grade!
Standard(s) Taught

#### Describe qualitatively the functional relationship between two quantities by analyzing a graph (e.g., where the function is increasing or decreasing, linear or nonlinear). Sketch a graph that exhibits the qualitative features of a function that has been described verbally.

Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

Students will be successful when they can…

• identify the properties of a function written in algebraic form (e.g., rate of change, meaning of y-intercept, linear, non-linear).
• compare the properties of two functions that are represented differently (e.g., as an equation, in a table, graphically, or a verbal representation).
• describe the features of a graph (increasing/ decreasing, linear/ non-linear, or constant)
• identify the type of function given a graph.
• create stories that correspond with qualitative features of a graph and vice versa.
