Now that we are three-fourths of the way through the 6th grade, I am strictly enforcing my due dates and 7 day grace period dates that apply to most assignments.  Thank you for your support as I do my best to make sure your child is ready for the 7th grade rigor they will experience in a few short months.

Students will provide a comparison and contrast of one author’s presentation of events with that of another. (RI.3.9) 

Learning Criteria

Students will:

  • Use details from the text to explain how an individual, event, or idea is introduced, illustrated, or elaborated in the text. (RI.1.3)
  • Support what is directly stated in the text or to draw inferences. (RI.1.3)
  • Will analyze similarities and differences in how authors present ideas or events. (RI.3.9)
  • Use key details to explain how authors are similar or different in their approach. (RI.3.9)

  • Textbook: The Prince & the Pauper by Mark Twain (play) and analyzing the text questions
  • Close Reader workbook: “The Prince & the Pauper” dramatization and “The Prince & the Pauper” graphic story
  • Complete graphic organizer and writing prompt on the three presentations
  • Grammar practice with comma usage
Assignments Due
  • iReady 45 minutes & a minimum of one quiz grade Due by noon on April 18
  • IXL P.2 and JJ.3 Due by Wednesday, April 14. Grace period ends on April 18 at noon
  • Analyzing the text, question #1, 2, 5, & 6 Due by 4/16 (formative)
