Learning Target:  Students will provide a statement of how the central idea is conveyed through particular details.  (RI.1.2)
 
I can explain how the central idea is shown through details in the text.
 
Learning Target:  Students will provide detailed analysis of how a key individual, event or idea is introduced, illustrated and elaborated in a text. (RI.1.3)
 
I can explain and analyze how key ideas and events are used in the text to help me better comprehend what I am reading.
 
Learning Target: Students will provide an explanation of how the author’s point of view or purpose is conveyed in the text. (RI.2.6)

Classroom Activities

Assignments due will be posted, in detail, on www.edmodo.com under your individual class, as well as, the attachment at the top of this page.

Assignments will include: Text (non-fiction, poetry, short story, drama) comprehension and analysis, iReady, IXL, NewsELA, & Thinkcerca.   I am using a new resource for our poetry unit.  I hope you enjoy!
