• reason that familiar shapes can be put together to create composite shapes whose area is equal to that part of the sum of the areas of the joining shapes. For example, show the area formula for a parallelogram by composing it into rectangles. |
Classroom Activities |
In class, we complete the MATH workshop each period. This is a blended, rotation model of teaching where your student is receiving the standards in multiple different settings while completing many different activities. This allows me to have time with your students in a very small group setting to help when necessary further develop the understanding of the standards. Wednesdays we do not complete our rotation. We work lessons customized to each students level on I-Ready. These lessons are customized to each learning level and scaffolds the current unit for each student allowing advanced students to work ahead and help remediate struggling students. |
Assignments Due |
The week students will be assigned the following to practice class concepts: IXL: (Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday) FF6 and FF8 students are expected to reach at least an 80% on these assignments. Mathspace: (Thursday/Friday) Compound Figures |
