SS.6.W.2.2- Describe how the developments of agriculture and metallurgy related to settlement, population growth, and the emergence of civilization.

Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

Student goals: 

Face to Face :

  • Discuss Key Achievements of the Ancient Egyptians


  • Students will identify the relationship between the domestication of plants and animals and the development of early settlements.
  • Students will analyze how the development of metallurgy helped early civilizations to grow.
  • Students will interpret the effect of a surplus of food as a cause for population growth in successful Neolithic settlements.
  • Students will understand that societies adapt to their physical environment in order to be successful
Classroom Activities

Face to Face: 

This week students will work in their spiral notebooks. We will complete interactive notes on major achievements of the Ancient Egyptians. Wednesday we will pause our ancient studies to have a day filled with fun election day activities.
