Patrician- in the Roman Republic, a member of the upper ruling class.
Plebian- in the Roman Republic, one of the common people.
Veto- to refuse to approve proposals of government
Dictator- a ruler with absolute power
Gladiator- a person trained to fight for public entertainment
Civic Duty- the responsibilities of a citizen
Pax Romana- a 200-year period of peace and stability established and maintained by the Roman empire
Reforms- to improve a system or organization
Consul- one of two chief leaders in Rome

Monday- you only need to complete your “Instruction” portion of the lesson RISE OF ROME
Wednesday- Please complete write down your vocab words found at the top of the page in your history notebook.
Thursday – Sunday: You will work on your Edgenuity Lesson “Society in the Roman Republic” you will only need to complete the Instruction, Assignment, and Short Writing.
Face to Face Students: You will complete a mapping activity on Monday/ Wednesday and Thursday/ Friday we will discuss the differences between the Plebeians and Patricians (Different social classes in Ancient Rome) Interactive Notebook Pages: 241-243
