Monday/Tuesday – Area of Rectangle and Parallelogram Notes and Activity Answer Key

Students will use the Area Model A=bh to find the area of a rectangle and parallelogram. 

Teacher will go over notes with students.  Once notes are over students will have the rest of the class period to work on the activity with a partner or individually.

Unit – Expression, Equation and Inequalities
Lesson 3 – Evaluating Expressions
 
Objectives –  Students will write expressions that record operations with numbers and with letters standing for numbers. 

Materials – Evaluating Expression Notes and Worksheet

  1. Quiz on Exponents and Order of Operations  
  • Direct Instruction – Teacher will go over notes with students whole group, filling in blank spaces and completing examples. 
  • Guided Practice 
1. Meet with Teacher:  Extra Help 
2. Partner Activity: Evaluating Expression  Worksheet

3. IXL Topic O > Lesson 3,4,5 > 70%   &   Topic Y > Lesson 4 70%

Homework –   Any Classwork not completed during class is Homework and needs to be turned in the following class period.

Objectives –  Students will incorporate their previous understanding of Distributive Property and apply it to solving with a variable.
