Unit – Ratio and Rates
Lesson 2 – Equivalent Ratios
 
Objectives –    Students will compare and contrast ratios to identify if the ratios are equivalent. 

Materials –  Reducing Ratios W.S Student, Reducing Ratios W.S Teacher

Guided Practice 

Meet the Teacher: Teacher Review Ratio & Equivalent Ratio Help Time
Activity: Finish the last 10 question on Equivalent Notes
Technology: IXL Topic R > Lesson 5 and 6 

Homework –  If student needs additional time on their test they will have 2 days to come either before or after school to finish the test without losing points.

Unit – Ratio and Rates

Lesson 3 –  Intro to Rate and Unit Rate 

Objective –  Students will take notes on Rate vs. Unit Rate and the process on how to find the unit rate. 

Guided Practice –  IXL Topic R > Lesson 8

Unit – Ratio and Rates
Lesson 4 – Unit Rate Practice 
 
Objectives –  Students will practice finding unit rate.

Math Center Rotation
1.  Meet with Teacher:  Unit Rate Division Help
2.  Partner Activity – Finish Unit Rate Practice Sheet if not completed yesterday
3.  Technology Time – IXL Grade 6 > Topic R > Lesson 7 and 8 > 70%

  3. Rate and Percentage Test RETAKE WINDOW 11/1 – 11/12. If a student needs to complete a retake, they will need to follow the green retake form attached their test. 
  4.  If student wants to do a Retake they must: 
    • Make sure Green Reflection Form is filled out and Parent Signature Required
    • Attend at least 1 afterschool tutoring session (if student doesn’t attend parents must initial next to box on Reflection Form, stating they are okay with student not attending tutoring)
    • All missing assignments for the Unit must be completed 100%

Objectives –  Students will write expressions that record operations with numbers and with letters standing for numbers.

  • Direct Instruction – Teacher will go over notes with students whole group, filling in blank spaces and completing examples.
