Important Reminders

  1. Remind Code for class @zeak6math
  2. Any Classwork not finished in class IS HOMEWORK!
  3.  Decimal Operations Test is Monday or Tuesday depending on your class period.  If a student needs more time on the test they will need to come before/after school within 2 days to complete.  If a student needs to complete a retake, they will need to follow the green retake form attached their test. 

Monday/Tuesday

Unit – Decimal Operations – Add, Subtract, Multiply, Dividing
Lesson – Test 
 
Objectives –  Students will show their overall understanding of All Operations of Decimals.  

Materials –  Decimal Operations Test 

Time Allotted for Test:  20 Questions x 3 minutes per questions = 60 minutes for test 

Homework –  If student needs additional time on their test they will have 2 days to come either before or after school to finish the test without losing points. 
 

Wednesday

Unit – Ratio and Rates

Lesson 1Fruit Loop Lab Sheet

Objective – Students will complete a a fun lab activity to show how to form ratios. 

Thursday/Friday

Lesson 2 – Intro to Ratio’s
 
Objectives –  Students will discover how to write ratio’s in 3 different forms: fraction, colon, and word form. 
 
Direct Instruction

Teacher will first play video on Intro to Ratios – Ratio Video

Teacher will handout Intro to Ratio Notes

Guided Practice
Math Center Rotation
1.  Meet with Teacher:  Reducing Ratios W.S
2.  Partner Activity – Intro Ratio Activity
3.  Technology Time – IXL Grade 6 > Topic R > Lesson 1, 2 and 3 > 70%
Homework – Any Classwork not completed during class is Homework and needs to be turned in the following class period.

  4.  If student wants to do a Retake they must: 
    • Make sure Green Reflection Form is filled out and Parent Signature Required
    • Attend at least 1 afterschool tutoring session (if student doesn’t attend parents must initial next to box on Reflection Form, stating they are okay with student not attending tutoring)
    • All missing assignments for the Unit must be completed 100%
